Michael Spengler
I’m Michael Spengler, an internationally experienced commercial photographer with a career built across three continents, 12 countries, and decades of professional work. From high-end commercial assignments to personal creative projects, my work is rooted in a deep understanding of light, composition, and visual storytelling. I currently am based in San Diego, California. I always try to execute at the highest professional level while constantly pushing creative boundaries. My background, global perspective, and hands-on experience give me a practical, real-world approach that goes far beyond theory.
Teaching has always been a central part of my photographic journey. I’m passionate about helping photographers grow creatively, master the technical side of the craft, and build sustainable careers. My workshops cover everything from creativity and advanced lighting to efficient Photoshop and Lightroom workflows, as well as the business of running a studio or working as a professional photographer such as pricing, client relationships, workflow, and long-term growth. My teaching style is hands-on, transparent, and rooted in 20 years of real-world experience, with the goal of giving students practical tools, clarity, and confidence they can apply immediately, whether they’re just starting out or looking to elevate an established career.
